Stage time

Anybody went up on stage yesterday?

Chilango,
I went up on the 20th. Just did some jokes at an open mic my friend Mack Lawrenz puts on at the Gladstone Hotel here in Toronto. The only people there were the comics and two wino rummy types. One of them was great, though. At the end of the show he came up to a few of us comics who were talking together and said "You guys are all pretty funny. But a little pompous!" I felt like his accusation was hard to deny.

That's cool.
I went up yesterday to this bar.
Anyways I called this guy for some stage time. So, I get booked, I got the address and guess what?
So, I walk in I see the stage and their's this big rainbow flag behing the performers. It was pretty funny.
I was like people are people.
Fuck it.
It was fun.

I went up yesterday. BOMBED BIG TIME! Oh, the pain! AGONY! AGONY!! AGONEEE!!! I'm not a comic; I'm a stand-up mortician! You ever try out new material and all of it bombs? The only thing that works is your old stuff which you're tired of repeating? I have a paying gig next week. Say something nice at my funeral..
