VP Debate.

VP Debate.

Post by JTF »

This is the most boring thing I ever heard.

Edwards is too stiff. He sounds like he's reading the owners manual on how to change the oil in a '78 Dodge.

Cheney is the most boring public speaker I have ever heard. I can only imagine the hell he put the board at Haliburton thru...

Unfortunatly, it sounds to me like Dick is winning this one. Edwards needs to leave the script behind and quit quoting Kerry.

I just heard that those "fair & balanced" pricks at FUX News are showing the box with the green & red lights on camera when Edwards talks. When Chaney talks they cover it up with graphics that say "vice presidental debate."

astonamous,

I was only able to listen to the first 45 min of the debate and Edwards clearly seemed more inexperienced. I couldn't see their faces, but then I walk past a TV and I see Edwards drink awkwardly out a mug, then STICK HIS TOUNG OUT AND LICK HIMSELF!!!

When I saw Edwards speak, Cheney was writing on a notepad, keeping himself occupied and not looking foolish ala Kerry...

Edwards is getting killed from what I could tell... When he looks at Cheney, he seems to be looking down his aristocrat nose... He's blowing it...

I'm missing it now, since I have to actually do some work.

I wish I could see Cheney debate Bush! He'd lay a shitload of his "facts" out there and leave George twisting in the wind talking about his "job."

astonamous,

I heard an interesting take on the debate. Some independant analysts feel that Cheney clearly won the debate, and that it is not a good thing for Bush that he was so strong.

Bush actually does appear to be the weaker man on the ticket now, and that can't be a really good thing for a man who is supposed to be the "leader." It just makes him look even more like a puppet president...

Jennifer,

I know that Edwards isn't an aristocrat. I was just saying how it appeared to me. They really should have prepped him better for his appearance when "off" camera. I saw the last half hour from the NBC footage and Edwards did very well. When I was at work I saw a couple minutes of the MSNBC coverage when they used the split screen to show the reaction. Edwards did not come off well at all when he thought the camera was off him. THe aristocratic look was just that, a look he gave. When he did best was when he was discussing domestic issues. He looked comfortable and sounded it too.

I do think that Dick won the debate though. He came off strong early, when Edwards seemed to be reciting the Kerry playbook verbatum and they were playing the "That's untrue/He's lying" game. I was hoping for Edwards to get under Cheney's skin and blow the lid off that pressure cooker, but Cheney's experience showed. Too bad it was their only debate. I think that Edwards could have won a second debate considering how much he improved over the course of this one.

JTF,
I judge the debate on what wasn't said.
Do you remember when the moderator brought up Halliburton??
Cheney responded about Medicare and No Child Left Behind...both of which were left behind.

dumbass,
It reminded me of the movie, "It's A Wonderful Life"
I think you can guess that if the Republican's steal this election too, it will be, "Welcome to Pottersville."
I hope the debate made a lot of people realize, who is really running the White House.
