Excellent film! Best film I've seen in years, especially as far as black cinema goes. Great performances from everybody and it was directed by one of Mr. P's former collaborators, Michael Shultz, who directed him in "Which Way Is Up?" & "Car Wash". I was pleasantly surprised to see him ante up his game back to serious drama again. T.D. Jakes is one talented brother to have been able to pull off something of this level and get it booked in as many theatres as he did considering it's independently made.
The only sad thing is (and I guess it shouldn't matter) this film probably won't get nominated for any Oscars and it should. It's that kind of film! Check it out people fo sho!

I haven't seen the film. But I did catch a snippet of it on Oprah. It looked pretty powerful. Unless I'm mistaken, the message of sexual abuse figures prominently in the film. Pain, heartache and finally redemption. Forget about awards,if the message is heeded -- that would more than suffice. So you think I should see the film? I'm asking..
