Fuck Critics!!!

Well in my opinion..Adam Sandler's films do suck..To me the man is not funny. but do I listen to critics? Yes and no. But they're usually right most of the time. They were wrong about the first FRIDAY film..I didnt see it in the theathers cause i thought it was gonna be another stupid Black film..but i caught it by accident and I think it's one of the funniest films of all time...Then sometimes they miss it..I'll never forget when Siskel(God rest the dead) and Ebert gave two big thumbs up to POETIC JUSTICE...I thought the film was trash..except for 2pac!

Well and that's the thing,I kind of know Ebert's taste in movies now and I can contrast my likes to his and make a opinion if I want to check out something from there.

Now on the other side of my arguement,there are somethings that the critics will love but people won't take notice and check it out.For instance, I really like this show called "Arrested Development".Critics love itand it won a couple of Emmy's a little while ago.But people are not watching it enough for it to have good ratings.So I think sometimes people can be like [/i]Fuck Critics[/i] on the wrong things......

critics! i never read/listen to them anyway. i see a film because i think the ad makes it look good or it's the kind of thing that looks like i might like it.

apart from personal recommendations, that's about it.

critics are just little bitches who get paid to bitch differently about any film apart from the ones that everyone else says they like (cos they don't dare be different, do they?)

i tend to read reviews on www.imdb.co.uk, only to give me a better idea of what to expect, or whatever. they're written by real people without an agenda necessarily.

regardless of whether they like the genre or not, surely the most obvious thing is to critique it for script/acting/photography/direction. i hate gross-out comedies but i know the difference between a good one of its genre and a bad one.

If I've been waiting to see a movie..I'm going to see it regardless of what a critic may think. However, I do follow a movie critic who writes from my hometown newspaper. If he gives a movie two stars, I know I would usually give it three. BTW: USA Today is pretty liberal with it's movie reviews while CNN is among the hardest. IMO.

Don't you hate sitting through a movie only to realize that all the good shit was on the previews.

Yeah I was watching this show called the Sunday Shoot Out today and they had David Ansen from Newsweek & another guy from Variety....One of the questions asked was" Do you think that sometimes you guys can over hype a movie?"
The movie they used as anexample was "Sideways" which they hyped so much it did actually have me expecting a whole like more..... good movie but those damn critics did it again!!!!!!!!!!

On the subject of hype, I love that advertising principle that says, "You must see this film (get this album, etc.) the first day or your friends will see it before you and you won't be special."

If you can make the consumer feel that, then you will sell well.
