My prediction, thought I hope it never comes true, is that this world will become so over-controlled and protective that we will all probably be kept on government record by implanting a chip in our bodies at birth or some scanning mechanism like, unfortunately, animals..

The one place they won't actually put devices like this are in military personnel and others in Iraq. Guess what would happen to beheadings if we could just turn on a lojack type device and determine where someone is and find the attackers IMMEDIATLY!!!
But then again, Bush sends guys off to war without things that aren't really needed... LIKE BULLETS. So how can we expect common sense to be used in any way...

But I heard on the news today that the Marines found a bomb making factory and inside the factory was a 1999 Ford Explorer all rigged up and ready to put by the side of the road so it would blow up and kill some curious soldiers.

The chip that is implanted in animals in to find them, if they become lost...not to 'track' them as you would have to bring an animal into the vet to scan...what you are talking about is some sort of ongoing government stalker kinda thing...two different intents...but as Trudy says---why would you let this happen?

Are you talking to me specifically? Because I'm not saying that it COULD happen in my time, in fact, I highly doubt it..But if the citizens of the US are stupid enough to elect a president even more dim-witted, then who the hell knowns what could be instore for us as a country..
Even if the sort of thing I was talking about were to happen, i'm sure it'd be beyond our time.
And I wasn't trying to break off the subject, or imply some government stalker intention, but hey, have you ever heard of the Patriot Act? If so, have you ever read in depth of what it includes? (Home invasions, no warrants, freedom of phone taps/computer researching/record checking without warning/notices, etc...) If that aint stalking and controlling, then I have no clue of what is..
