I'm writing this as I think of it.
WHY?
Do you feel safe in your house anymore?
Are you like me and afraid of this war?
When armies are fighting,both in God's name
and the blood of the children is falling like rain.
When people watch TV and try to escape,
the media breaks in,with a murder or Rape.
When they tell us our nieghbors might not be what they seem.
Paranoia sets in, you know what I mean?
My mother once told me, and I believe she was right,
that there no such thing as a truly fair fight.
The lives on both sides,that are lost, make me sad
for the poor little orphans and the mother and dad.
I'm sitting here now wondering how it will end,
if you have any ideas, write Washington my friend.
I hope this doesn't offend anyone

This is my[Font size=4 face=a color=red]1100th post[/font] and I thought I'd go back to a very special day.
May 17th 2004 is the day I posted my first message in Richard's and your cyberhouse and I thought "Why" was a good place to start.
I was encouraged and accepted immediately into your world.
It had been a wonderful and invigerating experience.
I have laughed more in the last seven months and I owe it all to you and Richard.
I am aware that this may sound a little schmaltzy but I am speaking from the heart.
I have so many new, and good, friends that I have never met, but I hope to meet somewhere down the road.
Bingo,Trudy,Dave,John,SMJ,Jane,Nick,Andrew,and the rest of you.
I now have friends from all over this country and many more from other countries who were all drawn here for one single reason.
The opportunity to be with you and Richard.
I,like everyone, have had a very up and down year, between losing my friend Gene and the RedSox finally winning the World Series(which really wasn't that important to me Dave, but it was fun).
I would have liked to add another verse to this poem, and I would have, if the presidency had changed hands, but I guess we'll all have to wait till 2008.
I hope everyone gets what they wish for!
