Silver Streak

Richard loved going to the movies...
So do we. Who doesn't like music?

Silver Streak

Post by Joelmusick »

I hope you can post about old films on here (especially if Mr Pryor is in them)...

One of the films Rich was in was on British tv today - Silver Streak.
I hadn't seen the film before, but didn't realise you had to wait so long before you get to see him (I thought maybe they had him put some extra makeup on and play the old porter!)
I wasn't expecting it to be any good (reason mainly being it's mid-afternoon screening time) and although it was a bit too slapstick for my liking in some parts, I found it very enjoyable on the whole.
Gene Wilder is always a pleasure to watch too. It is true what "they" say, Wilder and Pryor had such brilliant chemistry together when they both appeared on screen - the perfect pairing.

What do others think of the film, hmmm?

Joelmusick,
It is definitely a classic!!You know they say Rich literally stole the movie so they added more scenes for him.I guess that's why all the sudden he showed up again in the movie. :)

Joelmusick,

Old movies? Why would we talk about old movies, like [/i]Star Wars[/i]? Or [/i]Silver Streak[/i]? Why should we discuss classics when we can talk about the shit that is stinking up theatres? I, for one, can't wait to see the [/i]Chronicles of Riddick Bowe.[/i]

JTF,
Please, man, spare me. No Chronicles of Riddick talk! ]:o(

How about this new flick coming out called "7 Years & Six Months"? I heard it's supposed to be pretty damn good!B-)

(shameless plug for my own film #1) :D

Silver Streak is not one my top Pryor flicks only becuase Mr. P is not in it enough. But the scenes with him and Wilder are defintely classic. It just gets boring when it trails off into the love story with Wilder and the lady who's in it (her name escapes me).

I wanna see Silver Streak cause i've never seen it. Richard & Gene make a great team. Gene Wilder is a funny dude. I saw his The Woman In Red movie with Kelly Lebrock awhile ago for the first time & that movie is funny. Kelly was lookin hot in that movie & the soundtrack that Stevie Wonder did is awesome.
