Re: What your Favorite Pryor flick?
rapfam3,
Thats a tough question.......shit........I actually have a rare VHS copy of "Blue Collar", not many people have even heard of it. I'm from Detroit, and it was based in Detroit in the mid to late 70's. Sort of popular movie in Detroit with my moms generation. This was a very serious movie, very little comedy, if any at all.
BUT, my favorite flick would be Bustin Loose/Stir Crazy, sorry cant pick one.
I dont't like Decoda or her momma.
"Bustin Loose"
I'm misses Braxtons favorite son, Joe baby, Joe muthufukin Braxton.

Stir Crazy!! That movie is the best! Sometimes I think Gene was the funniest thing in the movie & Rich was a great straight-man. THEN other times Rich's suddle stuff is the funniest stuff in the movie
*One Part I love in which Rich is suddle: right after The Judge gives Rich & Gene 125 Years I believe?? Well the FUNNIEST PART is when Rich is handcuffed coming out of the court & that their stupid Lawyer is explaining everything
THE LOOK on Rich's Face is the funniest thing ever!
My Favorite Movie as a Kid: The Toy!! I saw that movie about 200 times as a kid! I would watch that thing every week
Rich did some amazing acting in that movie! When he give that little speech to the little boy about being a man! That was so touching!! amazing acting! very touching

Fav has to be Hear No Evil, See No Evil or Stir Crazy. I think Rich and Gene were a perfect double act where both could play the straight man. Fav scene has to be when they are sat on the bus in Hear no Evil and Richard is told that he is black and he replies 'Does my mamma know?' has me in hysterics

rapfam3,
To really appreciate Rich's sense of hunmor you don't have to look any further than "STIR CRAZY".

rapfam3,
I think I liked Stir Crazy best of all. But I do remember quite a few years ago going to see Some Kind of Hero. It was a sad movie and I can remember crying. But I also remember that we had taken a friend of ours with us and she was kind of 'slow'. She kept laughing during the movie and we were all getting so embarrassed. I asked her what was so funny and she said, Richard Pryor...he's just so damn funny. We couldn't get her to understand that it was a serious movie!

I love all of the movies that had Richard Pryor in them but, my favorites are with GeneWilder. They have always complemented each other well.

Stir Crazy.
There is only one Pryor movie that I haven't seen: Moving.
I'm hoping it is released on DVD someday.
