Loved him since I was in JoJo Dancer
I was first introduced to the man himself in grade school.Richard is a native of my home town in Peoria,IL.When he filmed JoJo Dancer I was a student at Irving Grade School.A part of the movie was filmed at our school and the entire student body was cast as extras for the film. This was the biggest thrill of my life and I have been a die hard fan of his ever since.

Re: Loved him since I was in JoJo Dancer
I remember falling in love with Richard when mmy mom played his new album on the high-fi stero and she made me leave the room. So I sat on the bottom of the steps and listen intently. I tried to remember each word he spoke. I remember going to school the next day and asking has anyone heard of a comic named "Richard Pryor". No one knew of him. I am from Chicago, Ill.. Raised in Markham, Ill. I was the one who had knowledge of this new guy with no picture of him. I just wanted to know all of his jokes. I had heard of "Mom's Mabley and Red Foxx" but... Richard Pryor. He was new and special.
Thank you for teaching me how to laugh. Thank you for teaching me that as a woman I actual could have control. Thank you for truly opening doors for the {Steve Harvey, Cedrick, D.L. Hughleys, Jamie Foxx...etc.} I want to tell you that without you they would have no path and I would not be allowed to continue to laugh.
When ever you are in Woodbridge, Virginia. I have a place for you to lay your head and a good country collard green, sweet potatoe meal for you and your people!
