Hey guys, greetings from Atlantic City. Just wanted to let you know that there's a website that has 4 articles on Richard Pryor. The site is:
www.twodrinkmin.com
It has a review of the new DVD set in the double takes section, an article about Pryor's concert films in the monologue section (I think the Jim Mendrinos who posts here wrote that one,) an article about the relaunch of this site, complete with quotes from Richard and Jenny, on the opening lines page, and 5 of Richards albums were featured in the spotlight section about the top 50 Albums.
That article also mentiones 3 comics who I never heard of -- Godfrey Cambridge, Dick Gregory, and Lord Buckley. Does anyone have any info on them? They're probably famous, but I'm 18 and haven't heard of all the comics yet.
A bunch of Pryor stuff

Sunset,
Godfrey Cambridge was in a movie I saw back in the day called "Watermelon Man" about a prejudices white man who wakes up one day as a black man. I believe Melvin Van Peebles directed that movie but I may be wrong.

Sunset,
Actually guys, I wrote them all. Hopefully I can write more Pryor stuff as time goes on.
As for not hearing Godfrey Cambridge, Lord Buckley, and Dick Gregory - Sunset you gotta check them out. Very funny, a bit dated, but brilliant.

Sunset,
If you want to know a lot about the great comics get a book called, "The Last Laugh. The World of Stand Up Comics." by Phil Berger It tells a lot of stories about all the greats and how they came to be. Richard is the second picture down on the front cover. My husband bought it for me as he is always looking to expand my comedy library and this book really tells the nitty gritty of what a lot of comics went through. I have not finished it yet as me and my husband are reading it at the same time between the two of us but it is a good read. I haven't gotten to the part about Richard yet but I am looking forward to that part most of all. Jen do you remember this guy interviewing Richard for his book?
xoxo
