The Current Dog you Rescue

Post by Visitor »

It is nice to see people taking care of strays.
The breed of dog that I have seen on your web site looks like a Korean Jindo.
They are known for they curly tail and pointed ears and they usually come with a red coat.

Seems to be a lot of Jindo strays, probably because they follow their own drum beat, thus making it challenging for dog owners to train. Although the are above average intelligence for a dog breed.

Just my two cents

Visitor,
The reason there are so many Jindo's, as well as many other strays, is that people don't spay and neuter and dogs fuck and have babies...and people don't give a shit!
I have a Jindo I rescued, and he is one of the best dogs I have EVER had!!!

Jennifer, I agree with you that Jindo dogs are very loyal to have as a pet and will defend to you to death if needed.
People have this wrong idea that when they buy a dog, it will behave like Lassie or Benji that they watch on TV as kids.
It takes so much more dedication than they realize to raise a dog (any dog).
Some breeds are easier to take care of, but that is usually lap dogs.
A Jindo is not a lap dog, it has hunting in its genes.
Being intelligent and being able to make choices without relying on its master, inexperienced dog owners are not able to keep up with the dog's logic and they just give up.
I would like to get a dog, but I live in a condo. I realise until I get a home with a backyard, to own a dog would be selfish and unfair to my pet. Many people don't see that as a problem
The worst pet owners are ones who buy a dog to make their kids happy on a birthday or Christmas. Those owners are the ones that should be spay or neutered ;p

Cheers

astonamous, I can see a miniture poodle, but if you are not near a green space, living in a city with a medium or bigger dog just not justice to it.
to lock at dog in a small condo when you go to work is cruel....
The only way to see that a dog will be properly taken care of is if you work at home or retire and you can dedicate more energy to your pet.
I find it sad that human are the only animals that don't mind living in a small apartment, while other creatures continue to seek a means of escape to be free :)
