I'm manditorily being evacuated!

I'm in Houston and my area was just listed as a manditory evacuation area. I am freaking out. Are these storms a result of the government trying to manipulate the weather? Its just a theory that I have ,but does anyone else have a comment on it?

but it's also part of global warming, oh I don't know that little thing ignored by every single administration going after the riches of others.

it trips me out when people laugh at this notion. Gotta think on another level y'all. Why can't you manipulate the weather? There's so much the gov't is doing that we DON'T know about, if the truth finally did come out, there would be anarchy in the streets because so many people will feel utterly betrayed. Yes, I believe 9/11 was an inside job. Yes, I believe the power outage in 2003 was done by the gov't and yes, I believe Katrina and some of these other storms are manipulations of the weather. Just how strong and resourceful are the Americans? Well, we're finding out, aren't we? Get you ready for the BIG ONE.

ok yall are scaring me now. some things I'd still like to believe mankind can't destroy, because if mankind could by now it would be gone.

but in looking at a variety of information, I've seen a lot of carelessness and willful destruction over the past 10 years, and it's not getting better.

maybe we need to let animals run the government. they seem to have more sense when it comes to environmental issues.

No you are not on some wild conspiracy theory. People just refuse to accept the truth. Look, this thing that is going on now, is something my generation thought was impossible. I'm 35, and I'm of the first generation after Veitnam. After the Civil Rights movement. After Malcolm, Martin, John & Robert. The first recipient of the great experiment of us all trying to get along. I grew up my whole life during peacetime, being told, "We learnd from Vietnam, we'll never let this happen again." So, my whole mindset has been, "There's no way this country could end up in another major war unless we absolutely had to. We have too much technology. We're too advanced. We're too smart."

Now look at us.

And this is what is going through most of the public's mind.
Was it naive' to think this way? Maybe, but what's worse is your gov't lying to you for 30 years and leading you down a blind path to destruction. People are walking around now in an almost mind-numbing state. Almost traumatitized by the events of the last four years. And most people don't even want to realize it. They just want everything to be ok. To be like it was.

What happened to the party? I just want the party to go on.

I remember back in the 80's, there was an almost euphoric air to the times. We were considered the greatest country on the planet. We could do no wrong in the world's eyes. Whatever mistakes this country had made, they were put behind us and we were making a genuine go of it to be the best.

Or so we thought.

Well, people, the party is defintely over and most people are coming to the grim realization that it's never coming back.

This is why no one wants to listen to you, deepseas. But you are in the truth. Believe that.

You are only second to Trudy (astonamous) in terms of insightful and thought provoking commentary about these times. Thanks so much for getting back on the train, Marion. It is much needed around here these days. Yeah, I was a teenager back then so what tha hell did I know. But, you FELT like we as a country were making a go of it. It was a hard temptation to resist. A hard thing not to buy. Even if it was a sham, they did an excellent job at making you believe it wasn't. Ronald Reagan? Forget about it! That's why SOOOOO many people came out to this guy's funeral. The thing went on for a week! Not because he was a great president. That was proven a long time ago. It was because he made people feel good. Feel good to be an American. His charisma, personality and charm went a long way with that. I felt safer with that 80 year old man watching over us than I do now with this 54 year old idiot standing guard.
Yeah, Reagan didn't care much about black folks either. That was proven also. But i tell ya, black folks seemed to be at their most successful during this period. Especially black celebs. I think Richard Pryor was up to about $3 million a picture by the mid-eighties. So it never was that blatant feeling of racism you feel now. Shit it feels like we could fall back into slavery at any time now. That's how bad it is. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is like my main man Chuck D always said, "Don't believe the hype!"
Yeah, a 30-35 year old lie is a hard thing to break down and destroy, but it's not impossible. Hopefully one day the party will come back, but come back a lot more honest and open. I may be an old man by then, but I'll be there partying with the rest of y'all.

Beautiful post! Thanks for that. I think I'm gonna save this one and refer to it from time to time.I think this chart also speaks to the people who are gonna give a damn at this point in their lives and those who are gonna say screw it, I'm just gonna look out for me and get all that I can get. And I think that's where the problem lies. Corporate America has really drilled that into a lot of people's heads during the last twenty-thirty years and now they're like robots and this produces the George Bushes of the world. But the tide will turn again. It always does. The trick is to keep it turned for good.
