I always wonder WHY they kill the animal afterward tho...Why the hell don't they try to find out why it happened? Why should the animal die too?
I had a friend whose Mom was kicked in the face by one of their horses...it was by all accounts accidental, yet his dad grabbed his shotgun & blew the horse away! I understand he was enraged but why the hell KILL the horse? His Mom lived but her face was pretty messed up, permanently. It was HER horse he shot...so she had to suffer the grief of her face AND the death of her beloved horse that she no doubt would have forgiven. Damn......

koda,

animals definitely have moods and tempers just like people. but by killing the animal each time, they'll never understand it was one time thing. unless the animals are raised to kill/fight. I hate it when I hear about tigers/big cats being raised in captivity being shot after an attack. perhaps the animal wasn't meant to held captive

I stupidly broke up my cat fighting w/the neighbors' cat at about 4am in the rain. I had my cat by the back of his neck, but the neighbors' cat pulled a karate kid type move and stood up on one leg while reaching out to my cat. that definitely distracted me from walking away.

my cat swung around, sunk his teeth into my arm completely and his back claws scratched my arm leaving open wounds but nothing serious.

it was suggested by so many people that I have him put to sleep after I had to go to hospital to get open wounds checked out and get a required tetanus shot (now I had 2 sore arms). I refused.

a few hours later, my cat comes in through his door w/his usual "wassup" look, ate and cuddled up next to me like nothing happened. I was looking like this ]:o( but after a few minutes waas grinning along side him. but never again will I break up a cat fight, that's for damn sure, unless it's from a distance.

my cat that many in the neighborhood fell in love with because of how personal he greeted people was ironically killed years later by a psycho neighbor who kept a dog hostage for days in a small apartment. no one was even concerned about the dog -- because he was considered a nice guy who worked for NASA. @.@

huh? what? who? damn, I'm always the last to know.
