Eddie however has done something that no other comedian has ever done before. No longer is Eddie just a comedian. No longer is Eddie just an actor. (It could be said that he is no longer a good comedian, nor a good actor, but these have already been covered in another discussion.) What I find unique is that Eddie Murphy has in fact, trancended mere comedy and become a joke in of himself!
Once, you could mention the name Eddie Murphy and generally get a reaction from people of "Eddie is funny!" Now, you just mention the name and the name itself can elicit laughter! In fact, the films may not be worth watching anymore, but you'll watch Charlie Murphy talk about his brother and get a good laugh. Hell, even all of Eddie's stand-up routines are new again!
