let's say your name is Shane Murphy, and uhm..you just got a email a few days ago from a 16 year old girl that said she thinks you be her dad....how would you go about establing a good relationship with a gal that grew up without you? this isn't for me mind you, but a friend of mine named Shane Murphy with the nicname of Murphdogg

I dunno if you want my opinion or not, but i suggest you being very nice to her because she is probably very fragile and go about the process of a DNA test..while talking openly about it with her.

bcddjjsc690, LMFAO! it's a long story, I never knew about her till 97 when she was 7, and me and her mom agreed that being that her father had full custody of her it would be better if she didn't now about me...well her granny let the cat out of the bag, and now I'm where I'm at.

Well, I am going to tell you like this.....you sho' must know how to knock bootd at a very early age!

Enough of the jokes:
#1 - She did not ask to be here, and she is here now. So, LOVE her, and TREAT her with respect.

#2 - Every girl wants to be a daddy's girl - so be extra nice to her .....she may be the one wiping your ass in your old age when you can not do it anymore. You certainly would not want her to do it with a brillo pad.

#3 - The DNA test, get it...but tell her, no matter the results, you will always love her.

#4 - Bitch slap the momma for letting her talk you into being incognito. That shit may have done some damage.

#5 - Save ALL your receipts for anything you buy her, give her, donate to her, etc., in case the child support people come after you.

All in all, it is not a bad situation. I would personally have a coronary if my dude came up to me and told me this just happened, but I would be down for him.....might LEAVE his ass alone after that...but still be down for him.

By the way, if the woman in your life does NOT accept this situation, drop her azz like a bad habit, ya heard?

Murphdogg,

I met what would have been my half sister under almost identical circumstances when she was 16, the girl had spent her life up till then thinking dad was the guy married to her mom until mom and dad had a fight. Everything Mr. Bob said is exactly what my dad did after he found out he had a daughter, bought her everything under the sun trying to prove he was better than the other guy, she learned to manipulate that and use it to her advantage until one day dear old dad tried to be her father and discipline her and then all hell broke loose, my asshole dad thought he bought her love and respect until things didn't go her way. She ended up going with the guy she thought (and was in all honesty) her dad and nobodys seen her since.

But you aint going to have those problems because first your not an asshole and second your smarter than that. You already know your going to be honest with her, encourage her to be loyal and respectful to the man she thought was her father unless you find out he has done something contrary to that respect...but be sure about that and don't take sides, she may be your daughter but she's still a stranger and you can't know what kind of bullshit her mom has fed her. Don't try to make up for lost time, it can't be done. Try to be her friend and nothing more then if things develope into a tighter relationship thats excellent but also be honest with yourself if this isn't going to work out, do the best you can but don't flog a dead horse trying to get her to love and respect you. Sorry but it may be too late for that. Just do the best you can but don't saddle up 16 years of guilt right off the bat, we know and you know you would have done the right thing long ago under different circumstances but there is no need to try and prove it now. Do not destroy what you got over something you may never be able to have.

If nothing else Texas doesn't share extradition laws with a lot of states, doors open bring Mrs. Murphy and the baby we'll make do.

BTW, my half sister got back at dad by bringing the redneck prick a little half african american grandson. God loves me.
