MILWAUKEE (AP) — More than a bell is needed to save Dustin Diamond this time around. Diamond, best known as geeky Screech Powers on the 1989-1993 teen comedy series Saved by the Bell, is selling T-shirts with his photo on them to try to raise $250,000 so he doesn't lose his gray two-story house under a foreclosure order.

"If the public didn't care, I as an entertainer wouldn't have been a success," he said.

Diamond, 29, is trying to sell nearly 30,000 shirts — at $15 or $20 (autographed) each — to supplement the income he makes as a standup comic so he doesn't have to move from his Port Washington home, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee.

The T-shirt has a photo of Diamond holding a sign that says, "Save My House." The back of the shirt reads, "I paid $15.00 to save Screeech's house." The third "e" was added to get around copyright laws, he said.

He's selling the shirts on his website: http://www.getdshirts.com.

The foreclosure order was filed last month in Ozaukee County Circuit Court.

Diamond appeared on Howard Stern's satellite radio show Tuesday to plead his case. "I'm doing great with my comedy, but this is definitely a low point," he said. "Real life comes in and affects you."

Diamond doesn't have a listed phone number, and e-mails to the address on his website and at an alternative address were not immediately returned Thursday.

I wonder if I put my face or azz on a t-shirt, and on the back it said "I saved Big T from paying her mortgage", could I sale enough shirts to get $250,000.

Good Idea....all you need is #12,500 people @ $20 & we are in the game!

I'm sorry for him and all but that's pathetic. He's like one of those guys sitting on the corner holding a sign "Will work for food." He's young and able. If he loses it start over. Sorry his credit is bad but whose fault is that? Begging is not the answer to his problems.....

All I can think about is the lousy way Screech treated Slade Ham and now this happens. Karma? Reciprocity? Slade is a comedian and owner of the club, Comedy, Texas. He also tours a lot. He had a gig in Louisiana where he opened for Screech. Ham has been doing comedy for awhile. He knows his way around a stage. Feel me? Screech, on the other hand, only does stand up because his acting career fizzled.

In a just world, Screech would be opening for Ham. But Ham didn't have the name recognition and quasi-celebrity status. Throughout the entire time, Screech and his flunky treated Ham like excrement! Had him edit his material and stole a few of his jokes. Rather than bitch about it, Ham, ever the professional, took it to the stage.

Slade put on killer shows and it was impossible for Screech to follow him. So Screech ends up cancelling the rest of the gig and Ham has to headline for the remainder of the week. Moral of the story. If you must be an ass, be an ass. But keep it professional. That way people won't be so insensitive when bad things happen to you....

yeah thats true.....i can think of many others i would give to other than Screech.....his time came an went ...he i think is no good other than the role he played....he can try to eke out things from that slight peice of fame ...but thats all he can do.....i dont feel sorry for him at all...
