East side. 8 mile/ Woodward area. How you like it in Harlem? I visited there and was blown away by it. It's like a mini Detroit in a lot of ways. I fit right in. Gotta give a shout out to Sylvia's for feeding my ass so swell too. Got to meet her also, very nice lady.

Yeah, the Eastside can be a bitch sometimes. I don't even go deep east really because those muthafuckas are really nuts over there. The Westside is cool. That's what it is too, the place where all the people go who don't want to deal with the eastside anymore.

I shot a movie over there last year at this strip club on Joy Road and I enjoyed being over there. Very laid back and mellow. The pic on my avatar is actually from that shoot at the club. It's called Secret City.
It's funny you talk about going to New York, I was just thinking today about moving out there. It's a lot of stuff going on out there right now I'd like to get involved in entertainmentwise. Moreso than what I see in Cali. I think I would get real frustrated trying to work in Hollywood right now. Can anyone say "Friends" for the two millionth time?

Apple Dumplings movies -- haha

I second the opinion about BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE. I actually mentioned that movie in the context of Pryor to some folks the other day. Michael Moore's calling it like he sees it too... that movie is dead-on about what's going on in the U.S. right now. It's frightening and funny all at once... definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Some of the extras on the DVD are great too.

When I look around me in Harlem, I see what Detroit could be in a lot of ways.

Sylvias is a tourist trap with food that is shit (from what I heard) I got an all you can eat for $11 joint with damn good fried chicken, yams, mac-n-cheeze, greens, green beans, and ice cold leamonade.

I lived as a kid by Pershing on 7 & Ryan. Moved to the suburbs, then got to adulthood and moved to Schoolcraft & Greenfield. Do you live up in Palmer Park, huh?

Thank god, no Disney movies, but Luchia is right, wouldn't matter anyway.
Yah-CODEPINK had more than a minute-which really surprised me and moved me to tears!
The head of it, a woman, was interviewed on CNN by Judy WOodruff-which also surprised me and gave her lots of cred.

Damn, I didn't know that about Slyvia's! This was a while ago when I went there. I thought the food was pretty good. It was the best thing I had there. It's a funny story in that about Mr. P too. When I was talking to Sylvia, a guy came running in talking about Michael Jackson & Richard Pryor were sitting out in this limo and they were in town and wanted something to eat to go. The limo was indeed out there, but I doubt it was them. I didn't bother to find out. I figured he was just trying to hustle a meal.
