Thanks Robbie that was great advice. I will do that. I have that kind of rapport already naturally with the people who come to the show but sometimes you want to give them so much that your heart almost bursts and you just don't know how good you are doing until someone comes up to you after the show and tells you how good it was. Then you can breath a little bit easier but then you can't rest on your last show you have to start worrying about the next one, but this is comedy and what I want to do for the rest of my life so I guess it is time to stop bitching and get on with it. Thanks again.

Re: MC question
Daria,
Not a problem just believe in your self and you'll be fine. Is you club for locals? Or is it for tourist as well?
I've traveled and performed in 6 of 7 countries...and I had a blast, but have never been to Australia; 15 hours on a flight would make my ass itch. It took 13 from L.A. to Japan and my ass was flat...and i'm a black man.

Re: MC question
Robbie,
The club I mc/feature at is local but it is in a place in Sydney city where many tourists pass through. Sydney is a good place to visit. The best way to do it is to stop over somewhere. If you are coming from LA stop over in Hawaii. If you ever do come let us know and we will be happy to put you on as a feature. My husband and I are currently working on a show where he starts with jazz (he plays jazz guitar and has a guitar/organ trio) and I do comedy. I believe that because I too am African American that will eventually draw people, plus I am good comic looking to become a great comic. Sydney is my small town where I am trying to master the art and create something amazing before I try to break into the comedy scene in New York (homeland). Any help from across the seas is most appreciated.
Look to hearing from you soon.

Daria,
Here's more good advice. It has been my experience that a comic should always go on before a musical act. It's hard to do edgy material after someone just sang a gospel song...."thank sister pearl for singing the inspirational song the lord is my homey" and now the edgey comedy of Daria...It aint gonna work trust me.! You need a good flow of the show. Plus in your new home, talk a bout New York, or the States, tourist and locals will love it. Simply because of all the stories they've heard of America! You have the potential to have a Hot Spot in austrailia. I've traveled the globe doing comedy and Austrailia is one place a lot of us haven't been. Look up my prfile and get my email address and I can give you advice on putting together your own comedy night, I've had my own room of and on for 12 years. I stopped due to travel and one club owner changing my night when I go the room poppin'. Trust me. It's easy just remember your a comic not a club owner it's either or....
Good luck
