Robin and Marsha Williams
Robin Williams's wife has filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage, the actor's rep, Mara Buxbaum, has confirmed to PEOPLE.
Marsha Garces Williams filed a divorce petition in San Francisco on March 21, citing irreconcilable differences, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The pair have two children together: daughter Zelda, 18, and son Cody, 16.
Garces, 51, and Williams, 56, wed in April 1989, shortly after the actor's divorce from his previous wife.
According to the eight-page court filing, Garces is asking for joint legal custody of Cody – that the boy live with her and Williams get visitation – as well as payment of attorney fees and spousal support (amount to be determined).
The papers indicate she will ask the court to divide their property once all their assets have been tallied.
During their marriage, the couple also worked together. Garces was a producer on several of her husband's films, including Jakob the Liar, Patch Adams, and Mrs. Doubtfire.

Jennifer,
Geez. A few things probably...1) He's using.
2) One found someone else (It's never really over until one partner finds and falls in love with another.) 3) It was economically too attractive to walk with his money.
4)About a million things about their years of trying to make it work that we'll never know.
5) She caught him masturbating to gay porn.
6) He had way too much body hair.
7) People break up and it's a shame.....

Jennifer,
did he steal her jokes?
The guy married his nanny did you really think it was going to last. I'm pretty sure the blow did't help.

smjmcomic,
No he's funny the hard way. His last special was unreal and also his appearance on the show where the students are the audience. He gave Christopher Reeve a check for a million bucks a few days after his accident. He's one of the good ones and really incorporates Richard Pryor's form of comedy where he does characters in a brilliant acting way. Not as good as Richard but then again who could be...

walrusjk,
Robin is known as a joke thief, but he kind of get's leeway on it because he riffs so much and doesn't have a inner censor. I think the man is a genious myself.

Murphdogg,
yes i consider him a genius.....they say most artists do thier best work when they are young cause they have no fetters or blinders then....its when they find out the rules that they conform to them an thier work is tamed.....Pryor is funny cause he didnt stick to them rules.....i liked to hear Williams when he was younger.....his rants an raves seemed off the cuff but now you can see he thinks about what he says....he is funny though but hes not like Pryor cause there is only one Pryor an only one Williams....they are different an that is what makes the pot......

Re: Robin William's wife files for divorce!!!!
I saw him in the very early 80's here in Phoenix at Gammage theatre on ASU's campus. I'm glad he's more structured in his comedy now. You know actually prepares his material. Poor guy thought he could get away with just riffing. Obviously he could some times but it was embarrassingly silent in that packed house that night. "The World According To Garp" hooked me on him. Just a beautiful performance. Tara taran.

walrusjk,
Robin is a great guy. But he steal jokes. His brand of comedy almost guarantee that he'll take somebody's stuff! I'll never forget when comedian Shari Shepard and Whoopie Goldberg got into it on the View about joke thievery. Whoopie was all for it...
