Mistertee,

I don't love the between song music on the Hicks CDs, but I view them the same way as I view an overlong skit on a Wu-Tang album--I skip it. And then I don't think about. And if Bill Hicks' mom wanted that shit on there, then that's the way it's gonna be. I'm not trying to pick on you, but I just can't believe it would bother you so much. Relax. I think you may need a coke and a smile.
:)
Now get some coke.

NickFlanagan,

You can't skip it. It's mixed in with the dialogue.

cbreez0101,
Back when I first started doing stand up comedy “mid 80’s” I got a chance to work with Bill Hicks. Bill gave me my comedy nick name Wrong way Rod. We where booked for a one nighter in a small town in North Carolina, well a small town in Virginia had the same name. I drove to the one in Virginia and we missed the gig. I thought Bill would be upset that I had caused him to miss the gig but he just looked at me and said “my man Wrong way Rod”. He was happy not to have to go to bum fuck to do a gig. He asked me to share a road story but I had none because I was so new to the game. So he shared some of his Texas outlaw comic stories. All very funny!

I loved to watch him work a room. I miss him and his perspective.

smitty,
Great story. Bill was definitely ahead of his time. I was listening to a CD of his the other day and some of he stuff on Iraq is still relevant. I watched the Farenheit 9/11 and I just wondered how Bill would slam BUSH JR.

I heard a story about a guy that worked with Bill, James Gregory. He said that Bill did a show and got a partial standing ovation. He was unhappy about his set. JG was going out to eat and he asked Bill if he wanted to come, Bill says no asks JG to bring him something to go. Bill sat in the room working on his set all day. The next night bill does a brand new over and hour set and gets a standing ovation.

How many mfs can write a whole new hour of material in 23 hours? Maybe a few but how many could write an hour of A+ material in 23 hours? That is love for the art!

Alot of funny white guys.

If God is a trinity consisting of Lenny Bruce, George Carlin and RICHARD PRYOR, then Bill Hicks and Chris Rock are their chief apostles. Oh and those who like Hicks, might also be interested in Doug Stanhope. You can to the sacredcow.com site to see clips of his work or buy his cd-dvd coming out soon called Deadbeat Hero. amp-d,
