Damn, I watched the marathon this past weekend and was dipping in and out of it and I was looking for Rich to show up. I thought he was snubbing Flip or something. I think I saw just about every big black celeb at the time on there. Except Mr. P! What a phenominal show! I think at the time they use to say that Flip catered to white folks but looking back I don't believe that at all. He kept it real when need be and he had a really cool balance of black & white celebs. Who else could get Redd Foxxx and Bing Crosby on the same show? Stuff that stood out to me:

1) Seeing Sammy Davis Jr. perform Mr. Bojangles. Priceless!
2) Watching the Sesame Street episode with early incarnations of Big Bird & Oscar and Big Bird being so goofy he fell on his ass on the way out after being introduced. Hilarious & Historical!
3) B.B. King singing Sweet 16 and all these young girls swooning over him. Hilarious!
4) Any episode with Redd Foxxx & he did a few. Doubly Hilarious!
5) Flip & Louis Armstrong performing together. Classic!

That show reminded me of how Arsenio used to be. Arsenio was just a talk show but he had the same level of guests on there. I hate I missed Mr. P though. :(
