Renew The Ban!!!

The national ban on military-style assault weapons will expire on Monday, September 13th, unless President Bush and Congress act now. President Bush promised to renew the ban, but instead he's letting it expire -- he has refused to call on Congress to deliver it for his signature. For 10 years the assault weapons ban has taken the deadliest weapons off our streets, cutting their use in crimes 66 percent. But beginning Tuesday the 14th, an 18-year-old will once again be able to buy an AK-47 assault rifle in most states. We can stop this if we speak up now. Funny, but Bush will let it expire because he doesn't want to piss off the gun-nuts, but just try to take an assault weapon to the white house. In fact, the term "assault" is something that is illegal to do even WITHOUT a gun that can spew forth bullets faster than Bush can fuck up. He's supposed to be so big on national security, but does anyone feel secure in knowing young muslim arab men will be able to legally purchase 35 uzi's...

and senator Majority leader, Frist of Tennessee said. "the will of the American people is consistent with letting it expire, so it will expire."

I'm actually glad that he's letting it expire because this cause will grab the middle class soccer mom's back to the Dem's side by giving them something to be alarmed about. I'm a gun owner but I do believe that the assault weapon ban should stay in place because there are sooo many sick fucks that want to kill a lot of people in a short amount of time and making it easier to get the tools to make it so seems really fucking stupid. We're fighting terrorism on foreign soil, yet encouraging it on our own.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, man. God bless, for real. I know how the cops are (evil, generally devilish), but the guys who beat and robbed my friend were brothers. Had to get staples in his head. I know St. Louis and Chicago are tough as shit (won't see me up in there!), but don't get it twisted, NYC ain't no liberal paradise. Fools somewhere are fools everywhere.
