If you miss the days of Bill Clinton then you need to check this movie out, "The Hunting of the President". I rented it on DVD last night. It's a documentary on the right-wing, non-stop drive to derail Clinton's presidency. Bill Clinton is at a screening of the film and gets up at the end to talk about the film and the 10-year campaign to try to destroy and discredit him and his legacy. It's well done and Morgan Freeman is the narrator. It exposes some really nasty and dirty shit from the fright-wing, I mean right-wing, with all of the actual players in it.
Hollywood Video has that MVP deal going where you can rent as many movies, VHS or DVD, as you want, a maximum of three at a time, for the first three months at $9.99 a month. Then if you want to keep doing the MVP deal it's $14.99 a month there afterwards and you can cancel at any time. Most all titles in their library are MVP, excluding some new releases and such, which go MVP not long after they hit the shelves. Renting just three DVD's from them is already upwards of $12 or $13 at a shot so this isn't a bad deal if you're a movie buff. I guess they are trying to keep pace with NetFlix and the rest of the competition.
I've been catching up on a shitload of movies now and they don't even bother looking at any identification from me when I go there anymore and just kind of shake their heads at me like I'm taking advantage of the program or something. If you don't have MVP go get it and spend a mere $30.00 over a three month period and rent the shit out of this place bucko.
Be wise and look at the condition of the DVD's before you leave as some of them can get pretty beat to shit and not work or skip once you've gotten them home.
Also, be aware that they try and trick you into bringing the movies back in a day late so that they can hit you with their full late fees. It's still a 5-day rental period and they stopped giving out the print-outs telling you when they are due, at least at the location I haunt, which is the proof, even though they still print them out and then verbally tell you what day to bring them back on, usually tacking on an extra day so that in your mind you think you know when they are due, when it fact they will be a day late. I've caught them doing this to me the last several times and have called them on it. In fact, they got me the first time with it and I flat-out refused to pay them over $12.00 in "late fees" when that was the day they said they were due back. I told them to just close my account and I'll go to the other, litterally, dozens of other different outlets and avenues to get my movie fix and they said that my business was more important to them and that they'd forgive the late fees. Never pay them the late fees, it's bullshit, especially since mine was on MVP and the late fees were more than the monthly charge for the program. NetFlix has no late fees so I'm sure soon they'll have to follow suit.
Also, don't ever waste your hard earned money on their "previously viewed" DVD section when purchasing movies as who wants to own a scratched-to-shit version of a favorite flick for $10.00, sometimes even a little less, when you can get it new for the same price or for just a little more. Sometimes you can get a decent copy of course, they aren't all trashed. Remember, you almost always get what you pay for in life, though sometimes I've been pleasantly surprised at times with what I've gotten for what I'd paid for it.
I'm looking forward to getting to the actual movies here to see "Ray", "SpongeBob" and a few others. I took my gal to "the Incredibles" on Thursday and that was a fun movie. I watch anything from cartoons to pornos, though I do pick wisely, so I'm pretty much open for anything when it comes to movies, though on television it's basically just the History Channel, Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel and so forth. Regular television programming, as well as most all cable channels, in my own humble opinion, blow and they blow bad... Someone must like them though.
Anyhow, if you were a fan of President Clinton, or just a Democrat at heart, check this movie out.

I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!
