after watching Man on The Moon (how good is Jim Carrey in that?!?) I bought an Andy Kaufman docmentory and The Midnight Special.
Hes Great!!!!! hits the brit sence of humour spot on. I love the way he is constantly taking the piss. Tony Clifton is a great idea also. Now theres a man who would not sell out - it was all about the art.
I definitely think Andy Kaufman is great. From the Mighty Mouse bit on SNL, to his TV special, even throughout the whole wrestling escapade,he was really doing something different that I found totally hilarious as well. It's a shame that he died, but I'm glad he brought what he did to comedy. I found him to show a lot more sincerity in his work than he's given credit for.
cbreez0101,
I LOVE My Breakfast With Blassie! God, it's so awful when Freddie Blassie rubs the pregnant asian woman's stomach and calls her Buddha. Oy vey!
cbreez0101,
....and then they got into that big argument with the other people in the restaurant!!Funny!!
I also liked the documentary that Comedy Central used to show about his wrestling in Memphis! He talked bad about us country folks!!!
I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!
bingolong,
Yeah, "I'm From Hollywood" is hilarious--so-ap, can you say that with me? That shit cracks me up. And I love on the TV special when he sings "Friendly, Friendly World". I wonder if Kaufman and Pryor crossed paths or worked together?
