Yeah me and my grandad used to watch this show and Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" and make fun of the country twang...then my sellout ass sung the theme song at a grade school talent show!!!
I've been seeing a comercial for a "daily show" interview with "Cooter", you know how they mess with people during what the victim thinks is a real interview, but I havn't seen the show yet, You? The guy appears to freak. Publicity?
The NASCAR loop is great, I got called to Andi's pre-school because they would show her the flash cards and instead of "3" she's say "thats Earnhardt"
If you check out the History/discovery style channels and some of the more redneck country shows they do racing history and a lot of the older drivers like Jr. Johnson are finally giving Mr. Scott some respect and seem to sincerely regret keeping him down.
Still sucks because he was one hell of a driver.

Isn't Burt Reynolds meant to be playin' Boss Hogg? I guess that I'll have to see it before I can pass any judgement. I used to watch the Dukes back in the day, i saw it on a re-run a few years back and cringed (sorry, but it is a piss-poor show!). the only funny thing on that show was Boss Hogg, white suit? (check), white hat? (check), white car? (check), big belly? (check) grumpy face? (check)......and it's SHOWTIME!! (Burt's got a tough act to follow!)
Isn't he up against Willie as Uncle Jessie?
The only reason I watched the show the first time was because I'm a big Waylon Jennings fan, after that it was just to see that ass.
I screwed up earlier and didn't mean to imply that Jr. Johnson accepted responsibility for Mr. Scotts misery but what he said was that it was a damn shame that it had happened at all, There were several of the older NASCAR drivers who agreed with this. I still can't help but think "so where the fuck where you....".

I remember watching the show, growing up and loved it. But a movie, especially with Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke? Just no... no way.
If they had made a movie a long time ago with the orginal cast, it'd kick ass but some of the actors that play one of the characters in it, shouldn't even be in it IMO.
