Mama Virginas abduction

My wifes family are all wonderful people but Mama Virginia (great grandma) holds a special place in my heart as she would take me aside and tell me stories and give me advice as one confiding great wisdom but since she only spoke spanish and I english my intelligence rarely improved. Her honesty and concern for me was boundless, once right before starting nursing school she took me and my wife aside to tell me I had better not attend this school because I might have to see a naked woman, she knew this from experience because she had delivered one of her children at a hospital which was another thing she did not recommend and much prefered looping a rope over a tree limb, securing that under her armpits and squatting over a blanket, she had ten kids in all with the one at the hospital somewhere in the middle.
The first time she told me this story we were in Mexico on a chilly night kind of huddling around a oil lamp for warmth, there was her and great grandpa, her mother Mama Cruz (grt grt grandma), my wife to translate and myself, I later got her to repeat the story while recording with a video camera: When she was a young girl in south Mexico her family was among the people considered wealthy in the area, they owned a ranch and her father loaded mules with goods and went up into the states to trade, and she was of course the pretiest girl there. One night during a festival the banditos rode into town and their leader approached her requesting a dance, she declined the dance but was later grabbed by him and thrown over a horse and taken to the hills. Her father was away trading and with no one to defend her honor she was left to live on the run with the banditos, by the time her father returned it was too late to do anything and as with old traditions was forced to live with the man who had taken her forcefully. She was miserable and she said that she could sometimes see her family and old home but couldn't visit and would wish and pray she was the family dog just to be back home for scraps of what she once had. It's usually about this time in the story that she would turn to grt grandpa and give him the most awful spanish tongue lashing you have ever heard, the old boy would set there looking miserable and repentent and give me a look that said volumes.

I freaking forgot to log in,. I was reading old posts, decided to tell mama virginas story and then the kids came in with a parakeet they found (this dr doolittle stuffs starting to freak me out, it was a baby rabbit the cat caught last week) and I guess I logged off, oh well.

She was a very wonderful lady and poor grt grandpa has been miserable since she died, miss ya mama.
