who are your biggest hero's?
with the recent death of ROSA PARKS..a thought has just occured to me..who are my biggest hero's?? both alive and dead..and why?? So here goes a few....(in no particular order)
THEODORE ROOSEVELT..way ahead of his time..first president to allow an african american in the whit house..was a great enviromentalist...couldnt be bribed..overall a great man..
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR...(GHANDI)...not much more needs to be said here does it? just did everything it took to change the world through peace..
JOAN BAEZ...not only sung about peace and equality..but lived it through her actions...
there will be more whence it comes to me

Re: who are your biggest hero's?
ed broeth,
Richard Pryor. Might sound like I'm kissin ass but all ya got to do is read the I love TMIC posts and see why, people from the entire planet turn to him for support. He's taught a bunch of us how to laugh while gettin hit by the shit. Besides if it wasn't for him I'd probably be at the klan rally in Austin.
Joe Delaney, http://www.kcchiefs.com/hall_of_fame/joe_delaney/ - My hero' The link doesn't get into it but Joe couldn't swim and went in a pond to save three boys, he got one out and went back in after the others but he died along with the other two boys. I'm crying like a bfb.

ed broeth,
oh man, so many that keep me going daily when I sitting crying saying "I can't do this shit anymore"
my grandparents for starters, and early ancestors for what they endured and accomplished in spite of. one example my great-uncle Red Chester. he (white) w/his piercing blue eyes, married my very dark and beautiful great-aunt and paraded her around New Orleans pre-1960's like she was better than sliced bread. when going to certain places, he would be told, "you can come in, but your maid has to stay outside". my uncle turned the place out.
he also had his own newspaper stand business for over 40 years, which helped distribute underground info to others in need. there were so many like him in the family, but he was one of the few alive during my generation. and funny as hell, esp. when insulted.
Muhammad Ali - do not let this man go unnoticed while he's here, esp. w/his health is failing moreso now
Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee
Dorothy Dandridge
Danny Glover
Malcolm X & Betty Shabazz
James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, Mickey Schwerner
Miss Alfree Woodward, both Vanessa Williams
, Cicely Tyson, Loretta Devine, Diahann Carroll, Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah, Debbie Allen, Audrey Hepburn, because they provide different examples of beauty, positivity and rising above negativity and clearly demonstrate you ain't gotta be a degrading to be successful.
Harriet Tubman
Nelson Mandela - another one we need to acknowledge as much as possible
William Seward
John Brown
Richard Allen
and just about anyone who stands against the "money trail" norm when something just isn't right.

Re: who are your biggest hero's?
tamra,
I'm spreading I love Richard like sis spreads those legs, anywhere and often. ;p
My sissy ass got choked up or I would have included: Massai, Geronimo, Cochise, Little Wolf, Kicking Bear, Sitting Bull, and Crazy Horse. I just recently found out I'm Ghandi but like my heros I play nice as long as everyone else does.
Mom and Grandma, I got prematurely granny dropped but they gave me a home and love as if I was their own flesh and blood.
Thanks Appaloosa, and good topic Ed Broeth.

I was trying to think of a porn star with a smaller dick than mine but no such luck. ;p Everybody round here is open/like minded enough to appreciate each others heros. I especially like the personel/unsung heros listed like tamras uncle.
Les Paul and whoever made the first guitar.
