mainstream media

Politics, religion, racism, sex, the weather... there's always lots to think about so there's always lots to talk about. Progressive ideas are encouraged but all opinions are welcome.

mainstream media

Post by tamra »

*how* can the mainstream media be impacted? such that people receive fair reporting of news, as in present info and *allow* people to think, not be *mind-fucked* to death?

I was just thinking about the O'Reilly's, Humes, Gibsons types and how there is always a *twist* on their version and it feels like I'm watching a cult in action. and to make matters worse, suggestions and comments "to explain the situation" are solicited from the Coulters, Limbaughs, Lotts, Gingrichs types.

it all feels like a bad movie, I can't get my money back, and the theater manager is out in the alley getting blown by the movie's producers :(

deepseas,
waaay cool, and it's a start.:) I have to refrain from throwing shit at my TV after some of the things I hear. as I was saying in order to get some info, I've learned how to tune the REDS out and just bite my lip until the other info comes. I really try to listen and every now and then something wise is stated. but I know something is wrong when I'm sitting there like I've just seen Nancy Reagan smoking a joint 8-o

I wish there would be more press issues like today. direct, blunt questions, no backing down, and people see the bullshit happening and draw their own conclusions. if Scott McClellan had any concern for the american people today, knowing at some point he will be out of a job soon, he would have said, "you know what, here's what my conscience states about this." instead his damage control made it worse, as if he was on a string that wasn't attached to balls for sure.

WHAT IS wrong w/expressing how you really feel about an issue? is that now illegal too among humans capable of speaking? when the fuck did we become mind readers to figure shit out?

and think about it: who would you respect more: an asshole who lays it all on the line (good or bad), or someone who smiles while footdancing around issues that are truly affecting people in a negative way?

speaking of how I feel (blah, blah, blah ), my dream right now is the next president is someone environmental who focuses on investing in THIS country for a change, speaks w/out the nonsense, and surrounds himself w/people who mean what the hell they say AND that can spell/understand integrity (which is PRICELESS), while building THIS country up w/the incredible minds and resource it ALREADY has, instead of fucking the incredible minds and resources royally. because while we're over bullshitting in Iraq, pretty soon won't be anything left here to worry about defending, except snakes, rats and roaches who can fend for themselves. *just my 2 cents, where's my damn change?!*

sad how that has to be an "American" dream while we're losing lives in Iraq for democracy @.@
