My dumbass got kicked out of one of the two comedy clubs around here. Apparently calling the owner who calls "All black comics hacks" (the word coon is in his vocab, as well) a racist or calling him a cunt, will apparently get you kicked out.

Oh well! I'm not going to die knowing that I could have said something to stand up for what's right...

Next time, just make a joke about how he frequently mentions how much he hates "coons." Then say how the best part about men like that is that while they are so wrapped up in hatred, their mothers, sisters, wives and daughters are busy getting fucked very well by black dicks twice the size of his!

Then say that you aren't trying to continue the myth of the giant black dick... His is just really small...

jane_haze, good for you by god. Back in 96 I had to quit was was then my dream job, I was managing a lil club back in Indiana, I loved the job, I loved getting people's asses in seats and enjoyed knowing I was the one bringing them a good time. One night a older lady I knew walked in, she was a friend of my family's and like my mom had a mixed son, well the owner starts talking shit about her and her son...long story made short after the bouncers threw me out for attacking the owner I figured maybe my time with that fine establishment had ran it's course. There is a biased amoungst alot of white comics against "urban" comics. I think it's jelousy because to use generalities I'd say black comics in general get over better with crowds then alot of white comics. Some white comics that don't get over well with crowds make all kinds of excuses and call other comics "hacks" and blame no crowd responce on the crowds being stupid. I just ran into a guy like that a couple of weeks ago doing a open mic, he was talking smack about every comic who went up that night, and every comic was dying, but alot of them were new..and anyone can bomb..well when this guy get's up there after talking yang all night he bombs worse then any of the rookies did.

That sounds very similiar to this guy. Though, he's a horrid person without all of the racism, sexism, etc. I still don't feel bad, and really, because of it, the road comics are totally down with that move and are like,"I don't know why you went there in the first place." or my favorite so far,"Wow, you're cool now!"

I don't know if you've talked to Key lately, but it's the same club that gave him *no* respect. So, it's not *just* me.

Good for you, I wish all comics would stand up to club owners and managers when they hear crap from them. Yeah there are black comics that are hack (just watch Comic View). There are many more black comics that are extremely funny that get no work because managers like that guy see the skin color of the person in the 8x10 and immediately pass them over.
I won't be working Hillarities in Cleveland after this year. I got into it with the managers about the living conditions of their "condo". My main point was how safe could a female comic feel in that place for a week. They then tried to short me 200 bucks.
