Rosie Rips Kelly for 'Homophobic' Remark

I am not a fan of The View but someone else had this show on today and I heard Rosie and Kelly's comments. I fail to see how Kelly's comment is "homophobic." I don't think Clay meant to actually hurt Kelly's feelings. I think he took a joke too far. As for it being homophobic - WTF? I don't want someone that I barely know putting their hand on my mouth! Straight or gay! Placing your hand on someone's mouth is very personal. Seems to me you would have to know them a bit longer than just a temp. co-host to get that close. Hell, I wouldn't even appreciate my husband reaching over and putting his hand on my mouth in public. Simply making the comment that "I don't know where your hands have been" can apply to anyone. What does that have to do with being gay?

as a society we are more and more germ concious, I know a lady who will spray her hand with lysol as soon as she shakes somebodies hand.

I dont think her comment questioned his sexuality at all , it questioned his hygene,
If your guest hosting on someones show , you don't find cause to put your hand over their mouth, Bad move on his part . Her comments weren't sexual ,She would have slapped Regis silly , for that .

Im thinking Rosie over-reacted to this a bit here, cant see anything sexual about it, and haveing 3 kids myself I can understand concern in the germ department with it being cold and flu season... but dear damn what is everyone so concerend with Clays sexual preferance anyway! for fuck sake grow up already I didnt care when Rosie said she was gay ... hell i already knew it dont know why it was a shocking thing and i for sure wont care if clay comes out and says he is gay, its a free world as entertainers it all anyone should be concerned with, Is he doing his job as an entertainer? I can however understand rosie being jumping and over reactive the whole world seemed to have turned on her when she annocent it..but to react that way is a bit much.

Yeah I wish Rosie wouldn't have made it a sexuality issue....Clay has not ever admitted to being gay.The way I was reading it in that link was Kelly and Clay were already having issues throughout the show...

...and honestly I think Rosie made a bigger deal about being gay than the world did....she quit her show,got a crazy haircut, and all the sudden turned into a bitch in the media as opposed to her old persona....to me she didn't need to do all that, although she might have just been letting loose and finally able to be herself.....she can talk openly about politics and her hate of Bush which she couldn't do with the persona she had on her show

To me she seems over concious of being accepted or something when there is really know need too.( yeah, Ellen's career suffered a bit but look at her career now!!) Rosie was on Comic Relief and she is still funny as hell with her Barbara Streisand loving ass!!!!

Kelly Ripa , wasn't saying he's gay , she was saying "Get yout hand off my mouth, you might be NASTY !

I think coming out made rosie lose her own self personaly, she mad this whole personality created put on an act everyday, and then she came out as gay and its like she didnt even know who she was, but thats no reason to be jumping on Kelley when no one knows if Clay is or isnt and i doubt Kelley would even care if he was , I think Rosie is wrong in saying it was homophobia its as if she was saying well he will say he is gay since he wont answer the question. I say wtg clay its no ones damn business who hes sleeping with ... but yeah he should have used some purel hand cleaner or something before just putting hands on peoples mouths

but..but..I like Rosie...though her ass was wrong this time. Trust me we men are used to speaking our minds before thinking and saying dumbshit, and sometimes it happens to women to. On a related note, I do know some gay folks who over react and see everything as a plot against gays. I have a lesbian friend who kept talking to me about "her people" and I was like there really is a isle of Lesbos, but their not all gay, you don't have a people. That's like me calling all pale skinned whiteboys with a bald head and goetee's my people..well anyyyywho..JTF we need to get our people together and fight the man.
