Got this in an email this morning check it out:
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR behind " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

Believe it or not, the conservative radio talk show host I work with, Bob Grant, has been calling for this for about a year.
The reason this will not work is that even if the majority of people stay away from the pump on May 19, they still need to put the fuel in their cars. It'll just mean more sales on the 18th and 20th. I don't own a car, don't want one. I take mass transit and it works just fine...
I have a better idea. Many gas stations seem to be owned and operated by persons of middle eastern decent, even in areas of predominently non-middle eastern populations. Having had dealings in attempting to sell items (such as cars) where persons of middle eastern decent have contacted me regarding the sale, every time thay low-ball you on an offer in an attempt to haggle you down. For example: I was selling a car for $2,500 or best offer. An Iraqi guy came by and offered me $500 for it. I say we go to these gas stations and haggle over the price of gas. "You were on pump 3? That's $57, cash or credit?" You hand over a $5 bill. If he complains, offer him $10!

As for the arabs having us by the balls, you are sadly right. It doesn't have to be that way, but noboyd is willing to give up driving giant cars with V-12 engines for building mass transit. To build a bullet train in another country is "Nation Building." To build one here is "Socialism."

It's actually not that they would lose money. It's all about greed. It's the diference between making $50 million and $40 million. They won't give up that extra $10 mil. The airlines are worse than anyone. They actually lose money left and right, then get BILLIONS from the govt to bail them out. The govt killed rail travel by funding interstate highways (1958 act) and airlines while leaving the rails to die. If you artificially support any form of anything, the competition will die. This is what ended up in the creation of Amtrak, which is run by the govt. If American Airlines farts they get $15 billion, no questions. If Amtrak needs $1.5 billion to operate, Bush cuts the budget to $700,000. To make it even worse, Amtrak runs its trains on freight tracks, which they rent from the freight companies. Those same railroads made their money off the sale of the land surrounding the tracks. This land was originally given to them by the federal govt. So the govt pays rent on the usage of land that they originally gave to the companies free!

If we all switched over from gasoline operated automobiles to electric powered, solar powered or a combination of the two, the auotmotive industry as we know it now and especially big oil compaines WOULD lose money-A LOT of money-those were the COCK SUCKIN, MONEY HUNGRY, POWER TRIPPEN FUCKS I was referring to
