anyways... i went there, and it was a star studded 'ghetto fabulous' crowd. so much bling bling.... about 15 hale berry look alikes, and black guys so big, they could play basketball with me. not like - play against me... but really... like, roll me up and dunk me. not that it matters...
either way... attendance was...
black people = 197
white people = 3
so i found myself a spot, and enjoyed a couple of $3000 orange juices. that was nice... and the show cracked on.
the MC was a joke theif. i heard various things jacked from bill bellamy, queens of comedy, and a couple others i couldnt quite place... but either way, i dont remember his name... better for his sake....

the comics were good. i thought they had some great things to say. peire did a bit about the mexican version of 'the passion' with everything including the burning orange bush. he was funny...
a few others went on.. including ralphie may. pretty well known cat... really big dude (in size). sad to say... he bombed miserably the hecklers got the better of him. he snapped back at a few... but for the most part fell down pretty hard.
cocoa brown had her shot. only female comedian of the night. the hecklers tried to have their way with her... but she hit them harder than anyone. i think the line "n*gga, if yo motha fuckin dick was as big as your mouth... you might be here with a bitch tonight, and not your boys!" to which the entire room errupted. the hecklers stayed quiet for a while after that.

so robbie got stuck in traffic, or somethin. either way, delayed beyond his control... but was hangin around afterwards. i asked around some of the help if they knew were he was. "yeah, black guy, red shirt, beard" they replied. "i think he is outside"
so... why when i go outside there is 3 big black guys with beards and red shirts... and why was he the third one i tried talkin too. hahaha

anyways, we met, and the dude is real cool. introduced me to a lot of the comics, and we stood around crackin jokes, and talkin to various people for at least an hour. it is such a cool environment to be a part of. robbie says "this right here is the hardest room in LA. if you can handle this, you can handle anything."
so, i am gonna handle it. maybe not just yet... but i will. and i dont just mean the improv. i wanna handle mo betta mondays. but not just yet. i dont think they are ready for me yet. =)
anyways. much thanks to ribbie for gettin me in free, and much more thanks to robbie for showin me what the scene is all about. i cant wait to be a bigger part of it.

much love all!
gareth
