I think Chappelle got the juice right now, as far as TV goes anyway. His show is real good. It has to be for Paul Mooney to be making cameos and putting in on it, right. As far as his standup goes I can't speak too much on it, cus I've only seen "killing em softly"...but I thought it was good. A lot of potential there.

everyone,

my thoughts =

old man show = good

new man show = blows

chapelles show = awesome

jimmy kimmels talk show = not to bad, not a must see.

doug stanhope's stand up special = was pretty funny

joe rogan's fear factor = ridiculous

Errrmmm...I'm a tad bit partial, so I'm gonna find a way to interject Greg Proops' name into this thread. Maybe not one who is gonna break down barriers and start a new comedy revolution, but politically, he is down by law. He stands up for women; very, very, very much against Bush...an he'll let you know it; for the quality of all people really. I've been trying to figure out why I think he's so good...maybe it's intellect.

Proops is on the side of the angels and what is good. Hey...he thinks Pryor is the ULTAMITE stand-up and everyone could only aspire to be as great as he...so that's got to count for something. :)

no, i agree. i think proops is clever. plus i am a fan of improvised comedy as a whole... and he has his thumb dipped into that, which i respect him for.

smjmcomic,

I love the "Daily Show" too not just b/c of their political savvy but b/c of their SEXY host Jon Stewart and the most convenient time they come on every night--right before I go to sleep.
Jon Stewart is perfect to watch as I "Tuck Myself In" ;)if you know what I mean.

smjmcomic,

HAH. but in all honesty... i like that show... when it isnt 4 people talking at once. but i think anything that gives comics more time like that is cool.
