ClarkWashington,
Good list! Life of Brian is silly as hell! I just got off into it recently but I LOVE British humour! Too funny and it's honest humour. That's why we rip off so many of their sitcoms and import them to America.

bingolong,
Shawshank is one of the all time re-run classics! I watch it every time it comes on. It's something that this didn't catch on when it was in theatres. Goes to show the power of advertising. The studio shoulda got behind this one. It's crazy that they didn't! Great fuckin' story!

The only one i don't like in this list is "Scent of a Woman" I hated that movie and they had the nerve to give Al his Oscar for it. :X

dougdigitalpro,
It is like the Oscar I think they are going to give Scorsese for "The Aviator" It might not be his best picture but like Pacino who hadn't won a best actor Oscar up to the point of "Scent" I think Scorsese will win b/c he is due.Though I did like "Scent" Pacino had so much other noteworthy performances he should have won for before that.

LOTR almost fits this mode but I think were just saving the Oscars for the "ROTK"Are there any other Oscar winners that you guys think were won b/c the reciepient was due?

dumbass,
There are two film festival's coming up, the DV film festival and MiniDV festival in LA that I'm entering. That may be two places it gets shown at. Beyond that, I want to self distribute, but it's a ways off due to money issues. I'll keep you posted on when it'll be shown or when you can get a copy. Thanks for the interest! :)

This has to be the hardest list i've ever compiled in my life, i'm such a movie fan that it changes daily, but here we go as of right now....

10) Tremors - Kevin Bacon "Hey Earl...I FOUND THE ASS END!"

9) Primal Fear - An early Edward Norton Classic, dont want to spoil it, but the ending for this one comes totally out of the blue anyone who hasnt seen it and likes a well acted courtroom drama should check this one.
8) Coming To America - SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!! enough said.

7) Police Story - Jackie Chan, slides down a 30ft pole covered in lights, getting burns from the electricity, then crashes through a glass display at the bottom before getting straight back up to cut off the bad guys. All shot in one take, the real deal!

6) Midnight Express - Brad Davis, His eventual escape from the sanitarium is one of the most emotional scenes I have ever seen on film.

5) American Psycho - Christian Bale - As hes chasing the hooker hes picked up, running naked bar his trainers though the halls covered in blood weilding a chainsaw, then dropping it from the spiral staircase.

4) A Night At The Roxbury - The Dance Sequence once they have finally gotten in has me in stitches every single time.

3) Running Scared - Any of the scenes with Crystal and the late great Gregory Hines together interacting. I think the single most underatted comedy from the 80's.

2) Bullet In The Head, a John Woo classic - the whole movie is an emotional rollercoaster, but one particular scene where innocent chinese citizens are forced to shoot american soldiers point blank to prove they are not traitors is gut wrenching.

1) 48 Hrs - Eddie Murphy busts the redneck bar "Tax Refund? Bullshit...you're too fuckin' stupid to have a job!"

As you can see, my tastes are pretty diverse and if I answered this tomorrow it would no doubt be a very different set of answers.

Great topic!!
....have a coke and a smile, and shut the fuck up!

barley,
Great list! I especially liked Running Scared and you're right, one of the most underrated buddy cop films of all time. Great, great comedy! I always thought there would be a part two but it wasn't meant to be. Eddie in 48 hrs in the bar is a classic also. He gave his best there. I don't know what the fuck he's doing now. Welcome to the boards! :)

barley and doug,
Yeah Runnong Scared was good.I've seen bits and pieces so much over the years I had assumed that I had seen the entire movie. But I rented it recently after the death of Gregory Hines and it had a damn good plot, comedy and action!
