dougdigitalpro,
I agree on the Han carbonite scene. I really felt that "I love you." and "I know." All in that eerie reddish glow. I also liked the scene in Memento when the guy is trying to find a pen and the woman goes out to the car. She comes back and he's forgotten that she's his enemy! I love that kind of rug pull!
Agree with the Superman film. One of my all time favorites. The score and the titles still amaizes me ever since I saw it in the theather...Also, I agree on the Rocky 2 being a big fan of the films( except part 5 ugh ) But u cant beat the "Hearts on Fire" training montage on Rocky 4
1) Mookie throws the garbage can at Sal's pizzera window.(DO THE RIGHT THING) I saw this scene in the theather and never had I experience so many people wanting to riot when this happened. This excellent film stirred up a lot of emotions at a time when NYC were experiencing a lot of racial divides between black and italians. This is also the film that influnced me to become a filmmaker.
2)Adrine hugs Rocky (ROCKY) I still shed a tear watching the freez frame of Roc and adrine hugging each other dispite what they've been through.
3)Daniel Son performs the Bird on Johnny (Karate Kid)..I've seen this film a million times and each time I see it, it's like the first. The kid had his ass kicked and embarrassed the entire film. At this moment he defies the odds and perfoms hat his master taught him..Not only to fight but belive in yourself...priceless!
4)Fredo hugs Michael Corlone at mothers funeral (GODFATHER 2) Acting at it's best. The two had beef but came together...for a moment..at their mom's funeral..then Pacino gives his hit man "That Pacino look" to wack fredo. DEEP.
5)"Now kiss my ass, and halleujah!" (WHICH WAY IS UP) This scene always cracks me up to this day..mainly because Rich and the actress playing Anne Mae reminds me of my parents. They faught like that all the time.
jermainebailey,
DV.com runs a festival that comes up in December. Chris Gore hosted it last year and he's a minor aquaintance of mine through a guy who worked on this film, Andre Seewood.
They started Film Threat Magazine together which is still pretty big today.
MiniDV Festival is coming up in November I believe and their website is Minidvfestival.com.They seem to be a good little spot to get your film seen.
And astonamous (Trudy) just put me up on the Slamdance festival out in Park City which is a smaller version of Sundance. They pick up more under the radar films and you also you get that Sundance connection.
I'm entering all three of em next month.

dumbass,
hello....yanno....I heard of the accent thing ....an it was sed to me that the actors accents were too fake....but being around an workin with some guy's like that....I have heard the accent .....mebbe it was go bogus for the critics....but they always say the wrong things about movies anyway...if they pan the movie then I watch it cause it's usually good....Scarface is a cult film ....I like Pacino....it is the way you might have expected him to act like in the Godfather but he never did after seeing him in Dog Day Afternoon......so I guess he had to make this one an he was great.....I loved it....I mean the line...."All I have in this world is my ballz an my word an I break them for nobody"....and when he wouldn't kill the woman and her children...an instead killed the guy with the bomb...ahh....a psycopath with scruples......an he never would have killed the his freind if the guy listened to him ....he sed his sister was not for him....he shoulda listened....my freinds mother liked that show..an she sed she don't know why but she liked Scarface....we watched it over an over......I have the dvd too now...an a poster ...t=shirt....think I will put the movie on now too that I think of it....later
I just noticed ths thread, very kool! I have quite a few that are my favorites but I'll have to sit down and really think before I name them all. I can tell you that one of them without a doubt is...
What am I a clown here to fuckin amuse you? The scene in GoodFellas where Tommy played by Joe Pesci confronts Henry played by Ray Liotta.
FORGETABOUTIT!!! It's one of the most memorable scenes in cinimatic history..HANDS DOWN!
SweetLuchia,
Now why doesn't that one surprise me? ;p Yeah, did you get the special edition on DVD yet? I gotta get that one in my collection but haven't had the money to yet but it's on the list. If you did, how is the bonus stuff?
That was probably the last really GREAT gangsta film and the most realistic.

The ending to 1968 Planet Of The Apes where Charlton Heston is riding the horse around a bend on the beach and comes upon the partially buried Statue of Liberty in the sand.
Many many scenes from Dr. Strangelove but especially the ending one with Slim Pickens riding the bomb like a rodeo bull.
The scene where Harrison Ford shoots the sword weilding ninja in Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
The fight scene between Bob Barker and Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.
Dirty Harry where Eastwood explains to the criminal what a 44 mag is and asks him, "do you feel lucky, punk?"
The ending of Vanishing Point when Kowalski drives the 69 Dodge Challenger into the dozer blades.
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid.
The scene where they are about to jump off the cliff and Sundance tell Butch he can't swim and Butch tells the kid, Hell, the fall will probably kill ya.
