bingolong,

That part in Busting Loose with the klan is funny as hell. I have the cassestte tape of Sunset strip and the LP for here and now but Live in Concert is the funniest stand up ever bar none end of story. I saw it for the first time when I was 13. I made all these kids from school come over to watch it and nobody had ever seen it but when I showed them stuttering chinese people they about shit their pants. It's over twenty years old and it ain't even closed to being dated humor. Truly amazing stuff.
You want to buddy somthin',Buddy up on this here!

I don't know if it's my absolute favourite, but I think Live and Smoking is pretty great, because the crowd is so aghast, and Richard just sticks it to 'em, and it's poignant, hilarious and raw as Hell. The way he shits on the people leaving had me in stitches. I guess it's one of his darker performances, but I think it's really something cool.

NickFlanagan,

I love the line in Superman 3 where richards character gets called up to the big boss's sweet - "You know what I really Really want? Coffee" RP "oh cream? sugar?" brilliant. such a simple line but so funny.

also, on "here and now" the slot about drunks when they try to explain somthing is timeless. . .
lets all laugh, lifes so much easier that way.

My favorite will always be Blue Collar. He showed his broad range in that movie.

TallPaul,
Yeah that one really surprised me !!
I saw it for the first time a year in a half ago and was surprised how deep Rich got with that!
I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!

bingolong,
"I don't give a fuck" from the Anthology's bonus disc, cos it captures exactly how I feel right now. But Side one of Is It Something I Said will always put a smile on my face. And Which Way Is Up? I wish there were more Richard Pryor-Michael Schultz comedies in this world.

Just got here to the site. Live on the Sunset Strip is special to me. I took this girl on our first date to that movie. She laughed all the way through. Her dad hated me though.

I think that was the movie that made me want to be a comedian. I just didn't have the life experiences or balls till now. I still have a day job. But not for long.

Hello, I would just like to say that Pryor's performance in "Lady Sings the Blues" is one of the best I have seen him perform. Dramatic an tragic. That is a peformance that made me feel for the character. His best performance comedy wise. is Stir Crazy...I don't think there were scenes that lagged comedy or were not entertaining. I laugh just thinking about the movie. Anyway, that is my opinion....later

bingolong,
this is my first time on the message board...but i just wanted to say that my pryor favs are The Toy and Hear no evil, See no evil( even though when they came out, I was pretty young-not supposed to watch them, but did anyhow). We just watched the comedy central special on Richard, and became pretty fucking reminescent. I just wanted to post a quick I love you to Richard, and completely support the animal rights movement, and am so happy to see genuine efforts made...and I would be bidding, or would've bidded on your shit if my one year and I weren't BROKE!! so, maybe next time. peace. cheers.--oh yeah, I LOVE THE FREE BASING BIT!
