Yeah Bruno and his wife were preoccupied with being able to say 'nigger'. They wused it in the very first conversation with the family and he just had to see if he could pass it by in the focus group.

but yeah nothing new, or no new info. but I was glad it was pointed out that other races have to conform to whites for employment, housing, loans and everything basic needed.

that's a problem and that alone is an eyeopener. I'm finishing up an article on higher education and was just shocked to learn of ONLY ONE african-american president in the 100+ years of many dominant educational institutions. but as the person said on the show it's "their" (white) country, and if you don't like it, get out.

well I don't know about getting out because my paternal family has been here since BEFORE slavery. but it's time for some folks to wake up and use their dollars wisely, because it wouldn't be "their" country w/out OUR money!

Do you mean only one president total? Or one black president for individual institutions. I graduated from Indiana University and they have a black president now and I know of at least one in the Ivy leagues.

Yeah how black people have to conform to "white people" was an important point. I actually wish they would have focused more on how the Black family had to do little preparation to go out as white. But the white family had to learn how to "sit", have their walk approved, and even have a black person with them to guide them.
The father of the black family already has a job as a white man. Which I will have to say something about... I've never gotten a job on the spot. I've had 'good feelings" I would get it. But white friends of mine have been hired "on the spot". I thought it was interesting the brother got that job that easy. Now the tv camera probably helped a lot.

I'm talking ivy league and top universities: Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown, West Point, Citadel, and all the other top one.

only 1 black president at Brown in the entire history of all of these schools combined. she was just selected in 2000. these schools are where our leaders (political and corporate) come from, this is where the Brunos of the world come from. they set the tone as to how others should behave.

ain't that some shit? and the 2nd highest one as I mentioned in another thread was Condoweeza Rice as the ProVost at Stanford. that's the 2nd highest position in command at the university. and ironically she was there same timeframe I was living there and don't even remember her esp. since I dated a Stanford U employee and lived next door to one.

it's funny you said this. and this show didn't score points someone who's just seeing show for first time.

but there's too much interaction information about the families. I didn't plan on watching this show to see how a black and white family living together got along.

I expected them to be thrown into continual real life situations. but the daughter will probably get more out of this than anyone. I don't think the black son will care either way.

there's just toooooooo much focus on the families opinions of each other. well fuck those preset opinions, I thought the purpose was to change races and interact w/others.

so far, I'm very disappointed.

I expected to see continual things like job hunting, interaction in public, neighborhood interaction, driving interaction, restaurant interaction, ACTUAL day to day shit.

put the white families in black makeup and throw them into a white church -- where love is supposed to be present and see what happens.

and same on the black side, throw them in white makeup and throw them in a black church!

I still say they needed to drop Bruno off at an all white church in black makeup so he can test his "if you treat people w/respect, they'll respect you as well". just have him go there and join on everything: talks, gatherings, eating, etc.

but I found it strange how there was tension w/Bruno being w/a white woman in an all black neighborhood. ummm.... and in California. in Northern Cali if you saw a black man w/a BLACK woman (outside of Oakland or East Palo Alto) you have to do a double take as if to say "how'd that happen?" so I find that "tension" strange in southern Cali. I guess I never hung out there much because in No. Cali, it's an all-day every day thing, it's not even noticable. even at black events like Juneteenth festivals.

After the first two episodes I assumed the producers had to be dissapointed in Nick.
Now I see... he's the reason why they selected his family.

A teen-age black male; that is apathetic, not in school, priorities in the wrong place, and doesn't think racism is an issue that has effected or will ever effect him.

Bruno grabbed hold of one word in the confrontation between Nick and his mother... "negro".
Man I was expecting the camera mans fist to go dead up in Bruno's chest and the editors to fade to black, with Bruno cluthing his heart screaming..."WHAT WAS THAT FOR??"

I know. and I'm thinking about TMIC now punch him so hard his chest caves around his fist and wherever the fist moved so did he.

that's why I want Bruno's ass dropped off somewhere. he's soooooo clueless.

and Bruno really didn't get it at the country and western bar. let him had asked one of the other women to dance and there would have been a problem. to him, it's all about your attitude not because racism exists. yeah right!

and my goodness, that is sad about the son, Nick, being a school drop out. that wouldn't have flown in my house. his ass would have to have a 9-5 job. you ain't gon sit home and shop and look for something to get into. or found a way to get back into the school
